Frosted Pink with a Twist

Frosted Pink with a Twist, Second in Nationally Televised Women’s Health Series Created by Edge Health

In 2008, the second in our series of star-studded live events and ABC network broadcasts, Frosted Pink with a Twist, again focused on cancers that primarily affect women. Through a combination of music and sport...this time highlighting the gymnastic superstars from the Beijing Summer Olympic Games performing alongside music mega-stars, Frosted Pink with a Twist provided another unique format to educate and empower millions as it relates to women's health and cancer survivorship.

Olympians Shannon Miller and Scott Hamilton hosted this inspiring combination of newly-minted Olympic medalists and in a celebration of sport and song. Lending their musical talents with songs of inspiration and empowering anthems were uber-artists Natasha Bedingfield, Jesse McCartney, Kenny Loggins, Carole King, and Cyndi Lauper.

Fresh from the closing ceremonies, 2008 US Olympic stars Shawn Johnson, Nastia Liukin, Chelsea Memmel, Alicia Sacramone joined by the 2008 US Men's Gymnastics Team Bronze Medalists wowed the crowds along with special guest performances by Shannon Miller, Paul Hamm, Morgan Hamm, and Blaine Wilson.

Frosted Pink with a Twist, the live event, was staged at the San Diego Sports Arena on Sunday, September 7 from 3-5PM. The ABC network broadcast aired on October 14, 4-6PM.

Our Non-Profit partners included the Gynecologic Cancer Foundation (GCF), the National Breast Cancer Coalition (NBCC), the National Coalition for Cancer Survivorship (NCCS), and the Ovarian Cancer National Alliance (OCNA).

Outreach efforts were accomplished with the help of the nation's most respected oncology organizations including the American Society of Clinical Oncology (ASCO) and the Oncology Nursing Society (ONS). A 360-degree marketing platform, created to enhance the show presence, included an interactive website with links to our partners and sponsors as well as a national PR campaign. Efforts included long and short lead editorial, print, broadcast and broadband coverage of the live event and television broadcast as well as a Satellite Media Tour featuring both celebrities and performers.
